Tethys Consulting is a knowledge intensive, deep tech, SME that combines advances in computational intelligence, uncertainty analysis, cyber-physical systems modeling and new resilience design approaches to deliver Water Management and Water-Energy Infrastructure solutions for a changing world. Tethys's core areas of expertise are: Water Resources Management (strategic, tactical, and operational decision making for water resource management problems under uncertainty), Digital Twins for Water Infrastructure (linking up the real and the digital world for enhanced asset management), Water in the Circular Economy (reconfiguring water-energy-waste systems and services turning waste into resource), Cyber-Physical Water Systems (addressing challenges and opportunities also for critical infrastructure security), Environmental Monitoring, Environmental protection and Ecosystem Services (developing optimal plans for environmental systems protection and leverage ecosystem services optimally fusing IoT, Satellite and in-situ monitoring information sources), Modelling for Resilience (using AI analytics and whole water system models to enhance resilience of socio-technical systems). Within its first years of operation, the company has already built a significant portfolio of projects and products in collaboration with universities, research institutes and consulting companies in Greece and abroad. Tethys staff combine state of the art knowledge in computational intelligence (including AI/ML) with domain knowledge in water and environmental management to deliver advanced software solutions starting from prototypes all the way to high TRLs in collaboration with end-users in an agile value-driven process based on co-creation.

Tethys supported the development of a Water Master Plan for the island of Crete, in which the company developed GIS analytics, screening tools, and data driven algorithms to simulate and assess flood risks at a regional scale and support prioritization of suitable measures by local authorities. It also supported advanced uncertainty-aware analysis of flood risks for the Hellinikon Development Lighthouse Project in Athens, where Tethys developed advanced stochastic algorithms and models to explore risks and impacts of extreme flood events to the sensitive infrastructure of this multipurpose, high profile, urban development. Recently, the company has also worked in the development of a new generation of digital water services for the Dutch construction industry, by providing specialized advice for the digital transformation and hydroinformatic toolkit development of two major Dutch infrastructure companies.
